Binatang Research Center (BRC) has three main partner groups. One of these is the primary funding partners. These funding partners support our research and operations through grants. Over the past ten years, Darwin Initiative and Christensen Fund have been the primary drivers of our research activities and operation. Most of the students are sponsored from their grants.
The second is the PNG partner institutions. These are the onshore partners mostly universities. National students coming to BRC for post-graduate studies are graduating from these universities. In the last ten years, BRC has build close ties with these institutions and the trajectory to this is the opening of the Center for Post-Graduate Biology (CPGB) at BRC (funded by Christensen fund). BRC student training includes accepting and hosting Industrial Training Students and this we have hosted students from all universities listed below.
The third group is the overseas partner institutions. These are overseas institutions where most of our collaborators are. Collaborations comes in various forms such as providing expertise. Some institutions like Smithsonian lead and direct the 50 ha CTFS project we have in Wannang in Madang Province.
